I wish I could nap anywhere. I'm still dang busy with my work project so posting time is limited.
I don't think I've ever formally introduced my faithful companion.
Her name is Pitchka. She's Border Collie to the bone. Her name means 'little bird'.
She was the runt of the litter. I was working in Coalville, Utah in 2003. Coalville is just a few miles North of Park City, Utah. Coalville is mostly range land and there are sheep and cattle ranches everywhere. Pitchka came from a ranch in Henefer (just north of Coalville). She had just started working with cattle and sheep when I showed up and she decided to come with me. Her mom and dad where all the dogs the rancher needed so he was pleased to let me be her new meal ticket.
She sat on my lap the whole drive into the Petco store in Salt Lake City. It's been a gas having her company for over 5 years now.
Pitchka has traveled on field work assignments to California, Nevada, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Well traveled to say the least.
I'm very lucky that my office is dog-friendly so she often does the greeting duties when people come in.
When I'm out doing my field work, she often rides in the back seat, next to her kennel (see photo). During lunch breaks, we always take a walk or a run. If we're lucky, she flushes a pheasant or two.
As for me. I'm still working long hours until the end of January and then things should taper back down to a more normal work week. It's a good thing too because I start Ironman Canada training February 1st.
Oh my God! Ironman training is starting already! I guess I better get my new bike built up before the snow melts.
Peace to all.

ahh, dogs are the best. give her a hug for me.
what a cute lil friend! does she run with you too?
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! That's one of the cutest dogs I've ever seen (aside from my own, of course). I'm a sucker for dogs with freckles and splotches. :)
Glad to hear you're still alive and well, just busy!
Too cute. Cattle and sheep dogs are fun. My friend had two and they would routinely 'herd' us as we walked around. One in front and one in back.
She sounds like a great companion.
How lucky you are to have a dog-friendly office! Although I have a staffy so I guess visitors wouldn't like being jumped on and licked to death
So sweet!!!!
enjoy the last few weeks of feeling like you have a normal non-sore/achey body before IM training begins...and stop working so hard!
Oh what a sweet baby. And lucky you that she's able to travel all over with you!
Man, that Pitchka is big as a horse! ;)
she sounds like a faithful companion. she knew what she was doing when she tagged along with you.
get that bike built!!
I can tell that your companion is well loved and has a great life with you.
Awe, what a cute dog!
That is a beautiful picture, too.
She's adoreable. Yes, I wish I lived the life of luxury that I give my bunnies.
