I'm still biking to work and was able to find a couple short cuts to make the route a tad shorter. It's not necessarily faster because that depends on the wind. The weather is a bit unstable so the wind could get me anytime. No biggie. I'm really likeing the bike commute so far.
On my bike through downtown yesterday afternoon, I caught up to girl on a Segway PT (personal transporter) i2 Commuter model. Oh, sorry, she wasn't 'on' a Segway, she was 'gliding' (from the Segway lexicon).

It was the first time I've seen one up close. Those things are quite the amazing gadget. Not very fast but they look easy to operate and handle. It was a hot and steamy afternoon and this girl was toolin' along effortlessly. I pull up next to her and she gawks at my sweaty, spandex clad grossness...
"you're working up a sweat huh"?
"I'll bet you never work up a sweat on that thing"?
"Nope." she says with her perfectly dry skin and flowing hair (no helmet).
The light turns green
We take off at the same time
She was faster off the start for the first 10 feet while I clipped into my pedal.
I easily cruise by her and on my way.
She..."Have a nice day."
"Thanks, you too."
We can all just get along after all.

Have a fun weekend.
